Scratch on bright red paint

My 4 month old truck has approx 10 sratches on the bed rail area. They area up to 1 inch in length and white in color on bright red. After doing a search on this site for information, I tried to use a finger-nail to determine if any were deep and 5 did just catch my nail. Should I assume the deep ones are through the clear coat and leave them.Also is 3M SMR to soft to start as an agent for removal, all products will be applied by hand so maybe a more agressive remover is needed.

If so professional touch up might be required. If you are through the clear coat, I wouldn't use any abrasives till you had the scratches filled in and re-clearcoated............
