Scraped a Pole

I am back in business

Alright, I got the Envoy back today. The body shop did a pretty good job, actually. The main issue I have is that they tried to pass a deformed part on me. There is a small plastic piece below the tail light that they replaced, and it does not line up nicely. So I pointed that out and they said they would fix it. 10 minutes later, they return, and I go out to inspect the fix. Nothing was changed. So, the guy told me they heated it up and couldn't fix it. So, I calmly reply, "so can you order me a nondefective part?" the reply was "sure, I didn't think of that. No problem". So, I should have it applied next week after the Holiday.

It's no big deal, really - no one will notice but me.

:crazy

Another issue is all of the swirls I now have all over the vehicle. I guess now I can try out SSR 2.5 and 1z polishes and see how they do. How long should I wait before attacking the new paint job?

Update

Here's an update

I have my Envoy back from the dealership again. This time, they aligned the taillight properly. I just have to live with that trim piece being a little off - I'm probably the only one to notice. The dealership replaced the part twice. This is the best they can do.
Overall, I'm pretty happy about the results.

On another note, I tried out SSR2.5 today on the hood. It is significantly stronger than SSR2. It is not quite as strong as 1z Ultra, but it is in its league. I definately had to follow the 2.5 with SSR1 and a polishing pad afterwards. Sealed with EX-P. Looks very good. Not perfect, but I can accept the results. I definately recommend SSR 2.5 to anyone with moderate swirls / microscratches.

By the way, thank you to Eric at Motorcitypoorboys for your help and great customer service!:beer
