Schlegel Buffing Pads

I'm not sure if they are edge pads or not. I've never used Edge pads but have heard about them here. Edge pads are made to be used with some proprietary adapter whereas Schlegel's make no mention of this and they if fact sell a backing plate for thier pads.

I think also Edge pads are two pads in one (one on each side)

Schlegel is a multinational company with manufactuering plants in the US and Ireland and make other products besides pads.

That being said. I've been using for two years now cause I can get them from one of the Autobody suppliers here in town where I buy paint and stuff.

They work very well. Don't shed foam like some other pads I've used and the backing has never come off any off the one's I own, again like some other pads I've owned.

Point in fact my only complaint about them is that they don't come in smaller sizes.

Edge pads do also come one side (ie velcro backing) like LC and others. There are places selling them and appropriate backing plates. This is their classic design. The double sided Edge is their 2000 design.

^^^ well that's rather odd. I just re-checked mine and all say Schlegel. Could be maybe we are talking about two different pads?

I really hate arguing esp over things that are trivial. I'll close with this pic from Schlegel's website.

The text on top states they have been making pads for over 50 years. They go on to list the brands that they manufacture but are "re-labeled" and marketed as something else and yes The Edge is one of them.

I'm say Schegel makes a pad called "The Edge" and that my pads are made by Schlegel and not thoose who make the Edge 2000.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

but look at the Edge website and their logo. Its the same logo as on the Schlegel pad and the text you show on your post says The Edge from Schlegel not BY Schlegel. I think Edge the same company that makes Edge2000 makes those pads FOR Schlegel, in fact I would bet on it.

im guessing schlegal sale the foam(maybe even the plate) to edge and edge then in return makes pads for schlegal ...

although i have not used edges single side pad, but have used other pads single side i prefer edge2000 double side pads then single side but if you must insist on a single side i would suggest LC 7.5 and maybe even edge since there pad is durable but again note i have not used there single sided pads....

actually based on the Edge website it seems that DECICATION TO DETAIL is the actual manufacturer. Regardless they are the same pads.
