ScheerSpeed Detailed: Trashed Mercedez CLK500

This is a 2004 CLK 500. the car is barely driven only on occasions and had only 17K on the odometer!

At first sight, the car looked as if it hadn't been washed in at least a few months. The brake dust was very caked on and the dirt on the paint was all dried up and stuck to the paint. If i had a foam canon it would have been perfect to use, but unfortunately i dont own one.

enough of me talking and i'll let the pictures speak for themselves :)

The engine bay looked as if it never had been washed...

To start off i gave the dirtier parts of the car a spray with P21s TAW and gave the wheels a generous coat of P21s wheel gel. I sprayed off the TAW after about 10 minutes, and then went to have breakfast while the wheel gel worked it's magic for about 30 minutes. After breakfast i gave the car a thurough wash using Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash n Clear. Then while the car was still wet i clayed the entire car (including windows and wheels) using the "Special" yellow clay with Optimum No-Rinse as lubrication

Look at how dirty the clay was...

After claying the entire car and applying tape to all the edges this is how the paint looked... i didnt think it would have been so bad...

As you can see, the paint was in pretty bad shape. I decided first to try Menzerna Super Insensive Polish with an Orange Über pad. it cleaned up pretty nicely with one pass, and two passes left the paint 99.9% perfect.

Here's a shot after two passes with SIP

Well minus the water spots ;)

That is an AMAZING transformation dude... truly nice bro!

Your client should poop him/her self when they see that car.

Great job :2thumbs:

i clayed the windows, and the spots didnt come out, and unfortunately the customer did not want to pay to polish the windows.

thanks for the comments!

Looks great!

I see you mentioned both FK 425 and Optimum QD (is this same as OID?) as LSP. Any thing to this? One after the other? Mixed?

That's a nice car now..................still amazed how those defects get onto the paint to begin with. Oh well......................came out very nice. Just needs "plates"! :)

How did you use the Leather Masters "Trio" with the 1Z Cockpit?? :nixweiss Just curious.

Thx.

See ya. :wavey:

i first used OID, and then used FK425. this was only because the OID had streaked

Thanks! I use the leather masters trio on the leather parts (Seats, steering wheel, etc...) and the 1Z cocpit on the vinyl, plastic, and wood trim parts
