It's been a while since i've posted a detailing thread! well it's not because i haven't been detailing, rather because the semester just started, and im trying to get a new car and so on... well anyways lets get to buisness.



This car had never seen a full detail. Only waxed once in a while by the corner or mobile guy. hence why it might have had so many swirls! Well the driver side was completely repainted after an accident, as you can see there was no orange peel. this car got a 2 Step polish, which was able to remove 95% of the defects, however the owner did not opt for a full correction, so this was as much as i could do.

That looks awesome. That thing really shines now. The flake in it has that extra "pop" now.



Nice cars too. Guy in my complex has one in that same color. Too bad about the WWD though :(
 
Got to love that NHBP paint that Honda/Acura uses. I have a Civic SI in the same color, looks amazing when it's clean. But it's so hard to keep those flakes popping even after a polish. Or at least on a daily driver anyways.

Great work, mate! And how I do envy you for being able to wear shorts at this time of year... I've had to say goodbye to my garage already and load the mobile detail shop back up because the water's been frozen for weeks now :wall
 
Awesome Job! Very Professional work and the car looks amazing.

Just curious why a 2 step polish with a Rotary took you 30 hours and even then you said you only got 95% CORRECTION? Looks darn near 100% but I guess for 30hrs I would have expected 100% or near it. You said the customer did not want to pay for 100% correction but did you quote him for 30hrs worth of work?? or did you simply bill for the entire job? Thanks and again nice work.

I noticed on the top shot that rain gutter trim looks a bit worn.



Have you tried PB Trim Restore? I think that would maybe help, but I'm not certain.



Chemical Guys sells basically the same thing, I think it's called extreme trim shine or something like that.

i like to take my time, and not rush the process. i charge based on a flat rate for the car, not hourly. if i charged hourly i feel that i would rush too much and not get the results i desire. and since i only do 1 car per week it is more like a hobby to me than a business where i try to do as many cars as possible in as little time as possible. so i just bill a flat rate for the entire job. tow days were spent on the exterior, and 1/2 a day on the interior.

thanks! i have black WOW, but i might have to pick up a sample of that product to give it a try.
