Saying hello

Hi guys, just signed up and thought I'd say hello from cold and wet Scotland.

I'm very much a weekend detailer, having recently graduated from the school of dishwashing liquid and old t-shirts!

Don't expect many posts for a while though, there's enough reading in here to keep me going for weeks!

Mainly Meguiar's nowadays, before that it was Autoglym and before that TurtleWax!

I must confess to using coloured polish on the roof though!

I've got loads of etched spots through the clear coat on the roof and coloured polish is the best I've found at hiding them until I can get someone to give the roof a paint.

Thanks Jeff,
I'd love to say that my attempt at wet sanding came out as good as his....................
but I would be lying!!!!


My etching is right through the clearcoat and I'm through to the base colour before the marks are gone.
The only remedy for that is a repaint unfortunately!
