Saw a Lamborghini Murcielago this weekend!

Wow!! What a car!! My first real world viewing...

Seeing them in pictures is one thing, but this weekend, my wife and I were driving down the road when in the distance I see what looks to be a Lambo coming toward me. I thought it would be crazy (this is a suburb of Memphis afterall!) but kept a watch as it came closer. Sure enough, it was a Murcielago that cruised right on by! I was floored and amazed at such a work of automotive art. Of course the wife couldn't understand my enthusiasm, but oh well. Those cars look so much better on the road than all the pics I've ever seen. And, even with the windows up and air on in the G35, I could hear its oh so sweet exhaust note as it went by. What I would give to own that car!! Anyway, it was automotive bliss even for a few seconds, even though its not my car and I'll prolly never see it again, I am still in awe and trying to figure out how to get one of my own (never happen :().

I wonder if he would've traded for my G35? :D

:)

It looked like this one below: The only thing I didn't care for was the color (a dark tan/silver, like the one pictured)

I know the feeling. I was visiting Sanata Fe this past april and there was one parked right on the street in downtown. :2thumbs:

Sorta a stealth color on a car like that, isn't it? Still a lot better than some of the colors I've seen on Lamborghinis lately, like baby blue or pale green. They're like rolling works of art, but it's nice to see these ultimate driving machines actually being driven and not always playing garage queen, hidden out of sight.

I'm not so surprised to hear you found it rolling around near Memphis. The one case that really blew me away is when I saw my first Maybach in person earlier this year. It was in Lebanon, Missouri, a small factory town, and it was pulling into an Aldi's parking lot of all places. For those who don't know, Aldi's is a low-end discount grocery store, the kind of place where you have to pay extra if you even want grocery bags.

You don't like that color?

No, I think this color is fine, I wouldn't mind it at all. By "stealth" I just meant it would attract less attention than something like "arrest-me-red". Understated and subtle can be a good thing, if it's even possible for a Lamborghini to be subtle.

That's really cool! I agree, they're SOOOOOOOOO much different in real life, especially in such a candid situation. Those exotics are works of art, and they really do have a heavenly exhaust note...

I guess it's because I live about 2 hours from the Hamptons, but every once in awhile I get to see some cool cars.

I saw a "Unique Whip" Murcielago in bright orange a few months ago, parked out on the street ( !!!!) in Port Jefferson (5 minutes away from my home). A BEAST!!

I saw a Rolls-Royce Phantom filling up at a crappy gas station about 3 minutes away (cheapass LOL)...that one's actually uglier in person. I then saw Maybach the next day in the same area!

And I always see two different Bentley Continental GT, one white and one silver, driving around.

I am lucky enough to get treated to Automotive nirvana fairly often...:D

art n motion

I've seen two Murci's and a bunch of Gallardos on the road. Everytime I see one, it stops traffic. Not Porsche, not SLs, not even Ferraris; Lamborghini's have the most jaw-dropping lines out there, IMO. Everybody looks :).

Well, I've never seen one on the road (so far), but I saw a Murcielago at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, parked next to a Gallardo. I had started to think they were probably "over-styled" exotics like their Countach ancesters, and that the Gallardo was actually better looking. Well after seeing the real thing (which looked much more compact that I expected), I was stunned by it's beauty - the Gallardo looked kind of boring in comparison. A Japanese friend who was with me summed it up by saying that it was just "too beautiful".

Man, that's a beauty of a car. I really dig that color. Charcoal is one of my favorite auto colors. Did the one that passed you have TN tags?

I go to Atlanta every now and then and have seen them there, but never in Tennessee.

On a side note, the CEO of our company HAD a 360 Modena Stradale. I've seen him in something else lately. I'm not sure what it is. I haven't gotten a good enough look to tell if it's an F430 or not. I assume so, cause it looks like a modena but doesn't look big enough to be the 430. I'll have to investigate further. His office is down the street from ours. We're a large healthcare organization with 4 bldg's on our campus in Nashville, and I don't drive by his everyday. Most of the time he's in a big S500, but couple times a week I'll see the ferarri. It's swirled up pretty good, I'd sure love to have a go at fixing it.

The 360 Stradale and F430 have some noticable differences.

That should help you, take some pics if you can! :2thumbs:

Almost caused an accident. LOL I wish it was at a light rather than when I was moving. :spot

That's the same color Murcielago I saw parked...except this one was a "Unique Whip" and had rims that were black around the outside and orange on the spokes.

I was eating at a restaurant down the road from ane xotic car place in chattanooga. Hearing those exhaust tones, I stood up and to my pleasure, saw a pair of matching galardos that were just bought.

One plate says His , others Hers O.O It was sweeeet.

I was leaving for work one morning and a Gallardo rolled up in front of my house. The driver was dropping off my neighbor (a girl) at her place at 7am in the morning... :o

Anyway, still a nice sight to see. A little unexpected in the residential area I'm in. I see them quite often in downtown San Francisco when I'm at work.

Wow, all of you who see exotics somewhat often are a lucky bunch! It'll probably be another lifetime before I see something of a Lambo caliber roll through here again. :( Although, I have seen a new Bentley Continental rolling around and just saw a Ferrari 355 Spyder yesterday....:D

Nice!! :2thumbs:

I just went to Southampton today, so I got my monthly dose of exotics. 3 different Bentley Continental GT's, a powder blue Bentley Flying Spur, a ton of older Rolls-Royces, and a red Ferrari F360 Modena.

This just amazes me, but I also saw a new Fort GT yesterday....in bright yellow! I am stunned at the rolling stock I've seen around these parts lately! :getdown

ditto. there is a guy with a red one w. white stripes that lives near me. Every time i see him out I wave at him. We saw eachother at the mcdonalds., and he let me sit in it...

America needs to make more cars like this.. B)

Also agree on the Murci's exhaust notes; beautiful--I also saw one on the road this weekend and ended up being in front of it a good amount of time on the expressway and then beside me for about 5 minutes or so..... Got a good look at that man's paint and he really could have used some swirl removing!! Still a gorgous car but I've been a Ferrari man for a long long time and have a lot of emotional reasons on why Ferrari over Lamborghini.

With many exotics, they're much nicer in real life than on any show or picture!

There is a yellow Gallardo I see pretty regularly in the Arlington area, probably owned by one of the Rangers since I often see it near the Ballpark in Arlington. Saw a Murcielago just last night going south on Central (aka 75) in the far left lane, going maybe 65 or so. He wouldn't move out of the left lane either, even though he was backing up traffic. Probably did that so more people would see him driving his car, too bad for him everyone now thinks he is an a-hole for blocking left lane especially since it is posted 'slower traffic stay right'.
