SAM 970, the first jet powered Air Force One, "QUEENIE"

Wow!!! Amazing job. How often do planes get detailed? I'm assuming only 'special' planes receive that treatment. At least the large ones... Otherwise, you'd think there would be some LARGE type tools/buffers/whatever created to cut the work time. Think large floor buffer but bigger. I'm thinking like a robotically remote controlled HUGE buffer. Would seem to be a huge time saver on planes/trains/semi's. When you think about it, using the same equipement we all use on little cars (on something that big) is crazy. But I'm sure if it was available, you would have used it/rented/etc... I guess not enough demand to create something like that... But I'm far from an expert, maybe something does exist.

There are tools (drum polishers and alike) that will cover large areas quickly. We don't do this often enough to justify the cost of purchasing such equipment.

Nice job boys! I hope you all got paid well for that one! The government has to spend our tax dollars legitimately sometimes, right? ;)

I am a huge aviation enthusiast and I work in aviation so this thread is right up my alley. The 707 looks great. I'd be extactic to be able to detail a jet, let alone the first AF1 jet or even that beautiful Concorde behind it.

We have three projects coming up soon. They arnt ours yet but we are close to being in the door.

1- WWII B17 Flying Fortress 80% aluminum polish out, 20% painted

Its going on two years now. I thought I had already posted the video of the event.

Better late than never right?

Great video! Joe, did you guys ever get to polish out the other planes you were talking about? Thanks for posting.
