Saab - Hard or soft paint?

How soon can I wash new paint? And how soon can I clay it?

It also seems to be a bit cloudy in certain areas, is there anything I can do to clear it up?

From what I hear you shouldnt wash it for 7 days and no wax for around 30 days. I have no idea about claying it. Why would you have to clay brand new paint?

You should be able to wash as soon as you pick it up. Most body shops wash em' prior to your pickup anyway. No wax for 30 days min., but you can polish if you like. Just make sure your polish does not contain silicone or wax.

I had Saabs in the past and now that I know enough to be dangerous, I'm thinking Saabs are soft paint. I remember spending all day polishing and waxing it and it looked great. It was black. I also remember washing it that same week and even though I thought I was careful, the swirls from drying it were outrageous. Can anyone confirm Saabs have soft paint or does it vary from car to car? It may have been stage I paint cause I ended up with black pads. It was a 1991.

Soft, IME. I've done a few 9-3 models (old and new) and the "Saabaru" 9-2x. All (metallic blue, metallic black, and black) were very workable in terms of paint polishing and correction, but marred up badly during washing and claying.
