S100 wouldn't totally remove....

I repolished my car today....basically just went over it really careful with my PC and VM/white pad at it's highest setting....VM wipes off effortlessly and leaves the finish really clear. I put S100 over it with my DF applicator in some spots and noticed that after i had wiped it off if i looked at just the right angle I could see straight lines in the way i applied the S100. I know i buffed really well with my pakshak MF, just can't figure it out. My car is black so this is unacceptable. I have since just went back over everything with VM and left it.....don't know what to do now...

I think my problem may be in my applicator or something I don't know....help.....

Did you buff the S100 as soon as you put it on? I had something similar happen

when I let it sit on the panel a long time.

Hope this helps.

I've had bad luck with S100 also. In the mornings, with the fog I suppose, I can see streaks a ll over the car. I see no improvement in apperance over the sealant, so I haven't used it lately. Maybe I'll try #16 before I give up on waxes.

I was gonna say sprits with water, then buff, but that affects the bonding from what I've read. You buffing off istantly after applying, right? Wish I could help.

For black cars that i do, and for my own, it helps if after you wipe of the product, go around the car with the pc and a MF bonnet for a swirl free finish

I let it sit for about 2-3 minutes.....also tried QDing afterwards.....but that didn't help either.....i'll try the wipe on and immediately wipe off thing tomorrow.....i never realized how time sensitive the product was...i bet most people don't either....unless you havea black car

Hey,

Did you apply it in the shade? If not, that may be your problem. Apply the S100 to a small area and then immediately wipe it off with a clean MF Towel.

Hmmmmmm? I have a black Mustnag and use S100 on it and have never had that problem. I put it on with real thin coats, let it stay on for about 20 minutes and then take a microfiber towel and buff it off. It always goes on like butter and comes off like butter.:nixweiss

Apply to a section and wipe off immediately. You shouldn't have any problems using that method, provided you aren't caking S100 on the paint.

Nice sig line Scott.

I have no problems with S100 but it specifically states on the jar to buff off before it completely dries. That's a big advantage of the product: easy on, easy off. I just did four doors today with the sister P21S product (got a deal on the kit from Top of the Line).

Welcome to the wonderful world of black cars and high humidity.

You may try buffing with your PC and a MF bonnet after removing the wax residue or using a QD like Pinnacle's Crystal Mist.

Never been a big fan of S100 for this reason. Its one of those products that goes against normal application traditions. And that means i have to adjust my process which im really not comfortable doing. Good stuff, just a little different !

Hazing & streaking on black cars is why I only use Pinnacle Souveran on them (and red). It NEVER streaks, no matter how much humidity is in the air. Waxing should be easy and quick!

OK, it's pricey, but one jar gives alot of applications. If you detail professionally, just save it for the black cars.

I've had this in the past on my dark purple paint, especially on places like the bonnet (hood).

I found just a very fine mist of water with a spritz bottle and a light buff with an MF removes the streaks.

Hope this helps. :)
