S100 in Vancouver...

Hey guys, I went to Carter Honda today, and asked about the S100 wax. They told me no one buys them, that's why they don't carry them. They can special order, but the S100s come in 12s, so I was wondering if any of you guys are interested. If so, maybe we can convince them to get some for us.

Any thoughts?

I think Trev Deeley sells them. I think 4DSC got some from there. Most Harley shops will carry that stuff more readily than Japanese bike shops. You might also try Richmond Motorsports, since they carry more exclusive marques like Triumph and Ducati. Also maybe John Valk BMW. I haven't had the initiative to get off my butt and look, but I will likely do it soon, as riding season is over. :)

I've been tempted to check out some bike shops sometimes too. I think the best thing to do is just go to Trev Deely HD. I went there one day just for fun (boy, did I draw some stares! LOL :D) and they had S100 for $30, as well as some other S100 and HD-branded products (no cleanser though). All kinda pricey. I actually bought mine from a hole in the wall store in Richmond and I got their last one a couple months ago. I don't know if they replaced their stock, but PM me if you want info. $25 there.

Did Carter Honda carry any other S100 (or other) products?

Yes they do. I didn't look closely at what they had though. I was only trying to find the wax and It wasn't on the shelf, so I talked to the guy at the counter.

I went there once, and they had a S100 kit, which included the wash, QD, and chamois, but no wax.

You got funny looks at Trev Deeley, Brian? What, you didn't have enough tattooes? :) Seriously, though, I used to go all the time to look at the Buells, and never felt any undue attention, but then I ride too.

I would have thought in this day and age of yuppy Harley guys, that it wouldn't make a difference how you looked when you stepped into a Harley dealership. The only thing they care about is the size of your wallet. :D

Yeah, but you're taller! :p There was a mix of stereotypical Harley bikers there, but some professional-looking guys in golf shirts too. The staff seemed friendly enough.

haha... I must have looked really funny then :)

Chinese kid (i'm 21 now) pulls up in his rice rocket wearing sweat pants and a sweat shirt walks into a HD dealer.... oh man...

but hey..... they only want your business... I got good service :)

Dang! Really? I was just in there yesterday getting some Xmas gifts for some rider friends. Shoot, I should have checked. I will next time! Thanks for the tip.:xyxthumbs

Burnaby Kawasaki on Edmomnds in Burnaby has S100 at just over $20.
That's a good deal! :up I wonder what else they have there.... ;)

Hey Jonney_boy, do you have a loud, typically "ricey" muffler? I just thought there was a funny contrast between the rumbling of a HD motorcycle and a buzzing rice rocket. :D

hehe.. yeah... the muffler does sound more ricey than say a toyota camry or a nice american V8, even tho it's still stock

but honstly, I did look kinda funny in there.... the only one without a bandana on.

I phoned Carter Honda Motorsports Parts department and they told me the S100 wax was 14 bucks! Don't know if the guy was BSing me or not but he went to look it up before telling me. Or maybe he was mistaken and quoting the S100 detail and wax aerosol?

Maybe you can phone them again and check for sure? They told me they don't carry the S100 carnauba anymore, but can order for us if we have a group of people that are interested in buying it. Most of their stuff seem to be priced fairly though, I wouldn't be surprised if they can get S100 for a good price as well.

JL9000, I will check again for you and ask specifically about the carnauba paste wax in the 6.2oz jar.

Though I probably won't be trying it yet as I just got all my Zaino stuff in the mail for my new baby, the Nissan 350z in chrome silver. I'm not sure if washing with Z7 and spraying on Z6 will be as good on S100 versus just on Z2. Just waiting for a day about 10 degrees C so I can wash, clay, and Zaino my car. It seems I might have to wait til January.

If you do, could you please inquire about what other S100 products they have on hand, and how much? Thanks. :)

Sure, are there any specific S100 products you are interested in other than the wax? I asked about the gel wheel cleaner and the guy told me 17 bucks.

Well, not really.... except maybe the Shine Enhancing Cleanser I'm trying really, REALLY hard not to buy. ;)

Okay, I checked back with Carter Honda motorsports about the s100 wax. They indeed don't have the Carnauba paste wax in stock and the guy quoted me the detail &wax aerosol for 14 bucks. Thought the price was too good to be true for it to be the carnauba.

4DSC, they don't carry the shine enhancing cleanser either. But would claying not give you the same end result? Unless you've got lots of oxidization or something?

Hey Guys, if you go to www.harley-davidson.com you can order S100 products and have them shipped to your nearest Harley dealer for pickup. Takes about 5-7 days with no shipping charges. Prices will be shown in Canadian dollars on the web-site, and a dealer locater can show you where to pick the stuff up. It works great in the U.S. Should do the same up North.

Charles :wavey

Thanks for the tip Charles, and thanks Iceman for checking it out. I was curious more than anything, since everyone says good things about that product. I don't really "need" it. ;)

Remember that cleaning dirt off the paint with soap, tar remover, and clay is different than using a paint cleaner/cleanser. The S100 cleanser is really a mild polish/glaze type product and not for "cleaning" paint. It'll remove light oxidation and shine up the finish, while clay won't.
