S&W on Windows??

Has anybody tried cleaning their windows with S&W? I was wiping down the car the other day, and accidently sprayed some S&W on the window, so I wiped it off. As I did it, I realized how nice it cleaned the small area I wiped. So I did all of the side and back windows and it cleaned nice, with no streaking or anything...that's what I was afraid of, that it would streak.

So I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Then this morning, I cleaned the windows again with my regular window cleaner, and as I wiped, the microfiber I use wiped across the windows so smoothly. Usually there is a little gripping or pull due to the window cleaning solution, but the windows that I had previously used S&W on, the microfiber just glided over it and the dirt just lifted off effortlessly. Then when I did the windshield (which I did not use S&W previously), I had the same kind gripping feeling.

I never thought of using S&W on windows before.
 
If I S&W a car I do the windows too. I also keep S&W around in some small 2 ounce spray bottles and use it to clean reading glasses, computer monitors, fingerprints from CD/DVD's (especially rentals, I hate to put a dirty disc in a player). It is some pretty good stuff that really comes in quite handy.

You betcha! My Invisible Glass is just sitting on the shelf now. Like Eliot Ness I keep a mist bottle in the kitchen for reading glasses, counter tops, etc.
 
First time I've heard of it being used on galss. I'll have to give it a try the next time I clean up the A4.
 
The way I look at S&W its a form of a waterless wash, at least that’s what Steve has designed it for, windows are all apart of that. I use it on the inside of the cars as well or any where on the car that I would like to substitute water.

With windows, S&W will streak or smear on windows if you spray on a hot window, or you spray to much directly on the window.

(I got this from Steve as I was having streaking issues with it)

Spray S&W on the MF towel, or mist the surface, then wipe the window, then turn the towel for a buffing.
 
the key to using it on windows is use very very little (did I emphasize very little:notme: ) and a nice absorbant microfiber. I tend to do my windows last and use a mf cloth that has already absorbed the Spray and Wipe from the body , so no additional Spray and Wipe is needed.
In the summer when glass can get hot, I'll use the glass to dry out my microfibers by just buffing:rockon
 
*** Disclaimer *** I really like S&W. IMO S&W and NL are two of the great detailing products I use, so I have to make sure I don't get too evangelical about them :D

I've used S&W on glass for years now. *** enter the overexplainer ***It is not necessarily my "go to" glass cleaner, but it performs well enough to be used as such, and it is my go to window cleaner in my vehicle "emergency" kit *** the overexplainer exits after sufficiently mudding the water***

I have varied my use from using it straight to a period of diluting with water (distilled) for glass use and now back to straight (due to sheer laziness in keeping the diluted spray bottle filled :redface:). Haven't experienced (at least to my recollection) smearing. I spray directly on the glass.
