Ryobi 10" Orbital

Hello all!

I've just purchased a Ryobi 10" Orbital and I don't know if its a polisher or a buffer.

I want to use it on my dark green sc400 but i'm afraid it will burn my car.

From what I understand, a buffer is what the pros use and should not be used like people like me. They run from 1600rpm to 6000rpm. (Please correct me if i'm wrong)

This Ryobi buffer/polisher says it runs at a standard speed of 3600rpm.

So i'm guess that I have a polisher, but since it runs at such a high speed, i'm afraid it will burn my paint/clearcoat.

Any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

sounds like a orbital buffer/polisher....

It is very hard to burn paint with a orbital since the pad does not spin but kinda makes figure eights.

I also think the speeds are orbits per minute.
