Sorry about the blurry pics, I was just so unhappy and depressed I ran inside and grabbed my digicam. Look at where it's rusting! And it's only a goddamn 1997!

I'm trying really hard not to fly off the handle here. I bought it used last year, no rust. Looked after it like you wouldn't believe, spent the time, spent the money and now this. I'm definately gonna sell it, but I'm just so frustrated right now I don't think I ever want to buy a nice car again. Freakin Honda. PISS ME OFF. Maybe I'll just buy friggin new next time, I dunno.

So frustrating.

Everything I've done is a waste. The cleaning. The upkeep. The money I spent. EVERYTHING.

Fear not. That looks like just surface rust. Expose metal to air and water and it doesn't matter what you have on top of it. The chemical reaction is unstopable. Its not your fault. Get some Meguiar's ScratchX or GS27 and that rust will wipe right off. You won't even know it was there.

What picture are you looking at? I know the car was dirty, that's my fault as I was gonna clean it when I noticed, saw the rust and said f&ck it. The first rust spot are the bubbles above the right keyhole, the second one is actually where the bracket is holding the right back bumper onto the body - notice how low the back bumper sits? You can see it if yiou know what you are looking for.

Well, the pics were kind of blurry so it was hard to see that I guess. I was looking at the one on the key hole.

Konowl, you might want to go into your UserCP and indicate your location. Depending on whether you're living in the RustBelt or the luxurious Desert, might make a difference in recommendations.

Is this a 92-95 civic?

Well the rust around the wheelwell is common on the hondas.

Usually people remove the rubber strip around the rear wheelwell which traps all the salt in and gives the rust a chance to Form.

The picture looks like it's rust around the front fender. If so it could of been a stone chip which exposed metal then causing the rust.

Has your vehicle been repainted? I am looking at the key hole and it looks like it had been painted over?

It's a 97 prelude, the pictures are of the keyhole on the trunk and the right rear wheelwell. The actual rust is inside the body molding that holds the bumper to the car. The keyhole wasn't painted over no, it's a bubble.
