Rust spot on new car? Please help!

So I got this spot on my hood. Looks like rust and I can barely feel it with my fingernail. It kinda looks like a mole, a dark spot with a ring of lighter 'stuff' expanding up and to the right of it. Claying didn't seem to help much if any.

Sorry about the bigger pic but I wanted to give you guys the best possible view of it.

Try a paint cleaner(ie. Klasse AIO) and that should remove the stain. If that doesn't work mabey something lightly abrasive will do the trick.
 
It almost looks like it might be a chip, but it's probably just some ferrous contamination that's bonded to the panel and has started to rust.



You might find a decontamination system's acidic step helpful, but it'd hardly seen sensible to buy the whole system for one spot. Maybe somebody who has some on hand could sell/send you an ounce or two. I'm all out myself...



Note that the sooner you do whatever you're gonna do the better, once the rust gets a toehold it gets a lot harder to eliminate.
 
Klasse AIO should do th trick. My fresh off the truck Mazda had several spots that looked like that. AIO and a MF cleaned it right up. Clay didn't phase it at all. Give AIO a try.
 
Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I went over it with the AIO but I didn't actually try getting RID of it with the AIO. I will try that ASAP.
