Rupes Duetto

What is it that some/most ppl don`t like about the duetto? Doesn`t do the job at that price point, twice as much as same p/c style bodied machines & since your there just go for a 15 machine? Or figure its not worth the price for a p/c bodied/style machine? Or perhaps some ppl have 3-4 machines & at that price there are other machines= say like a mini, 15, a 3401 & a 849, ok I can see pro`s having those, but what about a hobbyist/enthusiast wanting a smooth machine? Goes it not correct as like a 15? Yea, it`d take more time vs a 15.

I had great difficulty trying to understand your question, but I think it`s along the lines of what is the down side of the Duetto?

For one it won`t correct as fast as the 15 or 21, but it is a better machine in almost all aspects compared to a PC/other similar machines (besides price).

People love it because of its light weight, and ease of use.

Down side? Well, it wont perform miracles. Right tool for the right job, it wont eat a large panel like other big throw polishers or Flex 3401, rotary etc.

It is also well suited for sanding since the throw is 12mm vs 15 or 21... Still uncertain if I answered your question tho...

Rupes says the 15 corrects like 90% of what a 21 will. That`s 6mm difference. The Duetto has a 3mm difference. So, I think that would put it at 85% of 21. I believe that`s what I heard Todd say on a video, or a podcast.. Also check my equations. I suck at math!

I tell you what...on the next polishing job I get I will test the duetto vs the lhr21 mk2 with the same polish and pad next to each other and post up

I started with the Duetto. I chose it over the pc or griots because it was, well, flashier and I felt it was probably a better built tool overall - smooth, its very smooth...but the 21 mk2 is smoother, Much smoother....fast forward to about four years later and I still use my duetto almost every detail

no regrets

it`s still the tool I`m most comfortable with

I have a 15 adurtto and a. Nano. They are all amazingly easy to use and smooth. I own the original 15 and it`s. Not modded.

Mine isn`t modded either. I also use their polishes and pads on it. Once in a while I`ll use Megs on their pads.
