Run, Don't Walk - Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat is the sh1t !



I don't doubt durabiity, as everyone seems to have a postive review on it's durability.

It's all in the prep, but when is anything not good when you don't do proper PREP.

Takes about 10 minute to dry between coats, and it dries to a touch.



I applied 2 coats. On the 2nd coat, I buffed it hard - as the 2nd coat amped up the gloss a bit too much for my taste.

I think the 1st heavy wet session, it should diminish the gloss a bit, which would them be ~perfect~ in my eyes on gloss.





After YEARS, and I do believe this will Replace my Z16...



I don't mind washing and lsp, but tires, bleh....it was a chore as it was only good till the next rain.

Tuf Shine gives me a certain affordability in that never ending dressing task and more to boot, the look just lasts. For those that think it's expensive, it's Priceless IMO !
 
Oh, I'm not looking for it to last a whole year, I'm just curious about the fallout after its dead.
 
I have been using Tuf Shine for a little over a year now. The prep is key. I think I spent something like 30-45min per tire cleaning them each; getting all the old dressing and crud out.





Once it is applied and you are happy the look can last anywhere from weeks to months depending on driving habits and terrain. I have found that I will top it up every month or so depending on how they look and the desired shine. To re-apply all you need to do is wash and dry the tires and simply re-apply. Since you are not using any other dressing everything should be fine.



I let my truck tires go from late November - March and they look matte but you could tell they were still coated. It is a black truck and I think the 3 coats (gloss) looks the best.
 
How to you clean your wheels...



Mine are OC - so I generally just use car wash soap, a mitt and a wheel woolie....



I don't use IronX or APC...it's been my belief that the over-run of such chemicals may affect the tires.

Any experience with such on Tuf Shine

I have my wheels sealed with either OC Pro or BF Metal Sealant. So I simply use my leftover wash soap from the car to do the wheels. If really needed I will use a wheel cleaner. I simply don't let the cleaner dwell on the tires. So far, its all good. It would be very easy to "top-up" the Tuf Shine once a month to maintain that freshly done look. Because it is so thin it spread a long way, so only a few drop per tire is really needed.
