For those of you who have the unenviable task of washing some friend-of-a-friend-of-a friend`s vehicle that looks like it have not been cared for, you KNOW what those outside seals will do to your wash media-of-choice to become BLACK-stained or when you wipe it dry how those black streaks appear on your nice drying waffle-weave microfiber towel (or chamois, if you are old school). I use Meg`s D101 APC to clean those seals FIRST before washing a vehicle to avoid this "problem". I prefer to treat them with Aerospace 303 Protectant, but I think, like many of you have experienced, that it washes off in the first rain and streaks the paint. I`ve tried using Meg`s Ultimate Black Trim Restorer, but its better suited to hard vinyl than rubber.

I never rise off Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner.. Just put it on the towel, clean the area, wipe it dry with a clean towel, it is good to go, looks great and will be fine..
If I want to make it even better, I then go over it with Einszett Cockpit Premium - perfect -

Have you tried any of the Trim Sealants? I gave up on [dressings that run in the rain] ages ago, simply never use them on the exterior (other than tires).
Ordered some Einzett products (Gummi, rubber vinyl conditioner and plastic cleaner) I`ll see how she works on the new daily and the garage queen. So the Deep plastic cleaner, despite it labeled as a (plastic) cleaner, is still OK to use on rubber weather seals and my t top seals? I was going to use the deep cleaner on my hard interior plastics.

I have used Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner for almost 10 years on any and all plastics inside and on those long rubber trim pieces on the sides of older BMW`s with great results.. It has really proven its worth on that lower front door panel that gets hit with black shoes and gets those very hard to remove those marks..
Its also very good on any of those black rubber mats and those big honking ones in the back of some SUV`s... Will absolutely clean, condition, leave a nice scent, and leave a perfect black matte non slippery finish...
It is easier to use if you spray it on the microfiber towel that you dont mind getting possibly, a bunch of black dead stuff off the rubber door, roof, seals, and wipe them clean..
Then use the Gummi Pflege after and your seals will be very happy and conditioned..
The other bottle of vinyl and rubber protectant is exactly that - a vinyl and rubber protectant.. I have used it with great results on all outside vinyl or rubber trim with great results...
Could you use this product on the seals instead ? I guess you could but I have never done that.. The other product has proven its worth a zillion times in my experiences..

What`s the name of the Wurth product? :drool:Wonder who makes the Gummi Pflege for BMW..
For those who like to spend $ and split hairs, I still prefer the Wurth version over the 1Z. Can`t say I`ve ever heard of anybody else who uses the former though...Wurth also sells it in an aerosol version and IMO a can will last for ages no matter how often you use it.
For exterior seals, I get `em all nicely prepped (usually with Griot`s Rubber Prep), seal with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard +, then maintain with ValuGard FastFinish or some Spray Wax. I simply *NEVER* treat such surfaces with the "slime approach" (as I call it) even though the Wurth stuff is awfully "clean" as such products go and I can`t recall it ever running/etc. for me.

Wurth Rubber Care, available in Aerosol or Gel Stick. The stick left less residue on sideglass that pressed against the rubber seals on my old WRX. Not that the 1Z was awful in that regard, I`m really splitting hairs here but I do prefer the Wurth and FWIW I almost always apply to a swab/cloth/etc. instead of directly touching the stick`s foam applicator against the seals (which I don`t always get Autopian-clean before treating) or directly spraying with the aerosol (due to overspray concerns).

I just gave Blackfire All In One Trim & Tire Protectant a go on rubber seals. Seems to have worked fine. Cleaned and conditioned in one step.
