Check the Meguiar's videos over at www.bettercarcare.com . They have a certain method that is easier shown over a video than said. It has worked well for me, but some spots are inevitable.
I second the video... I actually saw Mike Phillips demonstrate it in person - it depends on where you "pick up" the product. You pour a drop on the car and pick it up at a certain position depending on what direction you're coming from. Just watch the video and it'll be easy to see...
