Rotary Question - Why does it "Hop"

I am a new rotary user. Occasionally the rotary will hop badly. It sure looks like the pad is flat on the surface. It almost seems as if it gets to dry. Is this possible? If so do you start with a damp pad to keep the moisture in the pad?

It comes from several factors. 1) Pad is dry and 2) you are off-center. What I mean by this is that you are over extending your reach with the rotary. You should try and kep the rotary within the width of your shoulders and whener possible try to keep yourself centered over the rotary.



I will occasionally mist my pads with water, not a QD as it's just far too expensive to use like that, to help keep them moving easily.
