Rotary Pads

I think they recently changed the orange pad texture. The 6.5 inch pads where always hard to control (orange) because they felt stiffer (for the PC I think). Now the 7.5 inch pads feel stiffer (new CCS compared the older CCS), and are harder to control on a rotary.

Having used all brands of pads the best on the market are definitely the meguiars solo pads.

Wool pads are much better on a rotary in my opinion when it comes to swirl removal. They are softer so they are flatter on the surface and are less likely to produce holograms than a similar cut foam pad.

They are also much smaller than your normal 8inch rotary pad so they are easier to control.

Wool pads are without a doubt the best pad to use on a rotary when it comes to removing imperfections.

The solo foam pads are very good for finnishing as well. They seem to easier to control than the Edge and lake country pads.

Well....I ended up buying an assortment of LC CCS pads, 2 foamed wool pads, and I already have the tan, yellow, and burgundy Meguiar's pads. That should get me started with my new rotary. I am going to get a few of those Meguiar's SOLO pads next time I order from ADS.

I hate using the 6.5 CCS pads on the rotary. I get more pad skip with those. I love the pads that have a curve edge. This are really easy to control.

Which ones are these? Do they come in 5.5"? Im in the search for the perfect 5.5" foam light cutting pad.

I agree, an orange CCS pad on a PC drives me crazy...it throws the buffer all over the place

Wool pads completely eliminate the pad skip issue. Cutting is so smooth that i can control the buffer with my pinky finger. Its just so balanced with the wool.

This is why im a fan of wool pads for correcting paint, and soft foam for applying glazes and sealants.

Slightly smaller pads work great too. The 6.5inch foamed wool pads would be great for a beginner however larger 7.5inch pads would be better. The Meguiars Solo pads are the perfect compromise between size, ease of use and cutting power.

It just seems that i can cut more quickly with the solo pads than any of my other pads and use fewer steps or fewer pass's to acheive the same hologram free finnish.

The other pads are still great, The Edge wool pads are excellent too but are slightly bigger.
