My Makita 9227 doesn't have a little "nub" with which to line up pads. Instead, it has a removable cylinder. All I have right now are LC flat pads and Meg's pads. Both have holes in the velcro where you should line up the pad (here is where the "nub" would come in handy--just taco the pad, line up, and go) but the pads are solid. Pad placement is a tedious task for me right now.
---Thus--
Should I attempt to undergo surgery on the pads I have, turning my pads into doughnuts? If not, which pads and backing plates are the winners for diehard rotary users. There have been suggestions for the contoured LC pads from Detailers Paradise. Is this :up across the board? I have to say right off, I'm not a big fan of the wool pad, so any and all foam suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks.
