Rotary backing plates...

I've noticed that a lot of the rotary backing plates are listed as 7 inches and are intended for use with the 8.5 inch pads. Even if you find one 6.5 inches it still doesn't leave any room for error if using a 6.5 inch pad. I found a 4.5 inch backing plate at a local welding supply store. It should work well with either 6 inch or 6.5 inch pads.

I did not know it was an issue trying to find different size backing plates try here they

even have a 2 3/4" for 4" pads!

I had that same issue with my Makita 9227C. I am bought 6.5 inche pads and thought 6.5 plate would fit. nope.



Excel had the 6 backing plate. works great and I think it was like $16? But good find since you can NEVER have enough detialing liniks!
