Can anyone recomend a good rotary backing plate for use with my lake country 6.5 inch pads? These are the standard pads(flat white, and black and orange with polishing pockets). Thanks a lot.

I use the Sonus 5" plate. So far so good, very happy with it! I have not useed anything else. But I'm switching to the 6" plate for use with the 7.5" LC concaved pads!

As far as I know, the Sonus stuff is for the porter cable only, not the rotary.

Accumulator- which flex plate are you talking about? All the ones they advertise they say cannot be used with the 6.5 inch pads. http://www.properautocare.com/flbaplforcip.html

Or do you mean these backing plates? http://www.properautocare.com/velbacplatfo1.html

Thanks

I didn't see the rotary part of that! In that case, take a look at the Pakshak backing plates. They look pretty good, I will post my review of them when I get them! Looks like they might be Lake Country Backing Plates!!

Sorry, I was completely out to lunch on this one (guess it's been a *long* time since I needed to use the rotary!). Yeah, I'm using the "regular", flat, Auto Quip 6" plate (the second one you linked to).

I use the smaller flex plate with 4" pads for spot repairs, which is all I've done with the rotary since March or April.
