Road Grime

Okay I made a thread here not too long ago maybe an hour heh. Situation is it has been outside with poor maintence because I have been at college in dorms. All along the side skirts there is caked on road grim/tar. I have tar/bird crap remover stuff. What would be the best method to get rid of this stuff. I am assuming claying is a bad idea. The only thing I can think of is scrubbing with a terry cloth towel and the tar remover, but I really don't wanna have to do that...thanks for any ideas in advance.

Okay so I tried the Turtle Wax Bug & Tar stuff I have with a terry cloth towel gentle first. Let it soak, then agressive really didn't do anything. The only way I have found to get it off was in the area under the sideskirt I tried it was with the bug and tar as well as a Doobie pad. I would think this thing would be way to abrassive and scratch the heck out of the car though. Are there any other sort of chemicals people could point me to help get this stuff off because if they don't I guess I will have to use the pad as gently as I can. Thanks in advance.

Soak it with Stoner's Tarminator, take it to a coin-op and pressure wash all the bugs off, then clay to get whats left. I gotta warn you, bugs that were left on for a while may have etched the paint.
