RMG or VM-what to top with

I got some RMG and tried it out because all of the good news about it making metal flake pop, and I was sure impressed-topped it with FMJ and then nattys. I have been reading some posts by Scottwax (and admiring his work as well) an noticed when he used the VM he usually tops with a carnuba because as I understand it the sealants may not be compatible with the oils in VM and RMG. I haven't had any trouble with what I used so far but I am considering trying the carnuba topper and omitting the sealant, and getting some VM to give it a try. Was thinking about one of the Clearkote products but there are two to choose from the Moose Wax and the Carnuba wax-which one works best? Also considering trying Collinite 845. Any suggestions.

And for those of you using the VM do you use rotary or the radom orbital and what speeds and pads? Thanks

Carnauba Moose is what I would use, the regular Moose Wax is a cleaner wax. 845 also seems to work well as does Natty's Blue.

What speed and pad (I have LC and Meguiars) for the porter cable and the VM. I understand that there is a new version of VM out that cuts a bit more.

haven't heard of the new VM but i use a polishing pad (mostly) some times a finishing pad with the PC i spread it out on speed 3 and work it on 5. good luck.

RMG & Carnauba Moose is one of my favorite combos, it darkens the paint and give it a nice "liquid" look. RMG and Souveran is good too, just a bit more reflective then CMW

Here is RMG & CMW

I dont know how the VM & RMG will affect the sealant. I usually get 3-4 months out of any sealant & in the hot soaking wet SUMMER. if it does affect the performance of the sealant i doubt it will be something to notice.

I really like VM and/or RMG topped with either natty's blue or souveran. fantastic wetness, depth, and flake pop. I apply VM with a polishing pad, rmg with a finishing pad, and the carnauba by hand.

5-6 with Vanilla Moose and a polishing pad, work it in pretty good-you can remove light defects.

The new version of VM isn't out yet, I think it might be undergoing final testing and tweaking. Should be soon though....I hope!

4-4.5 with RMG and a finishing pad (the blue Propel pad seems perfect) and use a little less product than you would normally, a little goes a long way. Work it at a moderate speed, 3-4 passes and it seems to melt into the paint with very little excess to remove.
