clicking onto exceldetail.com rmg is described as a wax.. question : vm with ex or rmg with ex , are you not suppose to apply seperate brand waxes over each other ? everybody seems to be doing vm over ex , but vm has wax in it just like ex ??

I believe you read that wrong. It doesn't say it is a wax, but that it is wax and silicone free.

"Red Moose Machine Glaze is wax, and silicone free, and abrasive free. It is designed to improve the reflective gloss of painted and plastic surfaces."

wow, that's some poor writing, if that's really the quote..

I had to read it 5 times just to figure out *** they were trying to say...

thanks elliot, they should have said wax free..and i should have read it again..

It could be worded a bit better ;) . I bet Patrick will see this thread a take care of that.

I first went to the Clearkote website for a description but it isn't even listed there yet!

RMG does not have any wax or anything. You don't have to use the same companies products over each other. But if they have oil you may run into bonding issues!

It should read:

"Red Moose Machine Glaze is wax, silicone, and abrasive free. It is designed to improve the reflective gloss of painted and plastic surfaces."

The way Excel detail worded it is pretty confusing.

O4cobra: Have you tried the RMG out yet? I know you were one of the first to buy it. I'm curious how it compares to PwC and VM. I'm looking for something to clean up SSR2.5/DACP haze, and the RMG looks pretty good.

I honestly have only had the chance to use it on my Dad's fender. I was pretty impressed with it, I topped it with EX-P+ and Trade Secret and was amazed. It made for a very deep, wet shine. The RMG/EX-P+ combo was very slick, I was very impressed!

Now the only problem I would see with the haze issue is, that RMG has no abrassives in it. So I don't know if it would remove the little bit of haze that aggressive polishes make. If it does remove some haze, it will will be my go to light polish!

I will hopefully throw down some more RMG this weekend, I have a 3-day weekend and I will try to get a post in with some new products. I was supposed to have a $100 detail on Friday, but he had to take his truck into the shop this weekend! :furious:

Remove the 2 words 'and + free' and the comma from around silicone and it's perfect. Less is always more

Thats the combo I had planned out, RMG/EX-P seemed like a winner on darker colors. I'm really hoping it removes haze so I can cut out a step of my process, it already takes me forever to finish a detail. I remember seeing an older Accord you did with DACP/PwC/S100 and it looked like PwC did a good job of removing the haze. I know PwC claims to be non-abrasive, so hopefully RMG will be on par with PwC or VM in cleaning abilities.

I believe the wording used on Excel is how it is worded on my bottle of RMG but I'd have to check to make sure.

RMG is wax free, so I imagine most products except probably Klasse SG and Zaino should bond fine with it.

You can get a little more 'oomph' out of RMG by using a polishing pad instead of a finishing pad.

No Scott, it doesn't say that on the bottle. It says, and I quote "ClearKote Red Machine Glaze is wax and silicone free. Contains no abrasives."

I have an order of RMG/UPP coming in the mail from Patrick. I hope the combo works on Tit Silver. I will report back also.

Alright guys, I have one teaser for you. I will be posting more but I have yet to do the other vehicles I will put in my post, so this is all you get.:D And yes the truck is in summer trim! ;) (I know it's early)

   Looks good 04cobra, I can't wait to try mines. Any particular reason you chose a polishing pad over the finishing pad for the glaze? How much did it darken the paint?

I don't think it darkened the paint for me. This color is very hard to notice a darkness change. However it did kick up the shine a ton. The finish was starting to get kind of dull because I had given up on waxing it because she parks under a tree and when it rains it strips off everything I put on it! Overall I was very impressed.

I used a polishing pad because I needed some ooomph from the product. I had some very minor swirls in it. The RMG appears to have taken care of those!
