Rinsing Optimum No Rinse

I recently purchased a carbon black BMW 550. This clear gets marred justfrom looking at it. I have been experimenting with wash methods to minimize touching the car.

My last wash was with ONR. I used DI water and dried with a waffle weave after each panel. Yesterday, I noticed so marring in the direction I was drying the car.

Today, I prerinsed with a pressure washer. I then hooked up my CR spotless to the pressure washer. I used ONR on the car. Instead of drying, I rinsed the ONR off with the pressure washer and DI water. The car came out great. I did the same thing to my wife's truck with great results as well.

Does anyone see a problem with not wiping off the ONR? My car and truck look slick with no residue or other spots like I have when I use a foam cannon.

I don't see an issue not wiping off the ONR, only issue is it kind of defeats the purpose of ONR. I might think about trying some traditional shampoos and see how you like the results...

I've tried traditional shampoos. I love the way My car looks and feels with ONR. Also, if the encapsulating stuff is true, I should have less marring using ONR over traditional soaps.

So far, this is the nicest look I've seen from my autos without towel drying. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't an issue with buildup or something else I didn't consider.

I think a thorough rinse would preclude having any sort of build-up. A couple of other thoughts:

1) you mentioned direction of drying. With ONR, you should be able to blot dry so that might be an option.

2) using a QD when drying might help minimize marring.

All that said, if what you are doing works for you then I see no drawbacks.

There will be no ill effects. No rinse can be used just like a traditional wash. You may notice there are no suds, but you still have all the proper lubrication you need and rinsing will not hurt if you prefer to. ONR is very versatile.

IMO, waffle weave towels aren't suitable for use with ONR (not found of them with conventional washing either), especially on soft paint. I used 16 x 16 530 gram microfiber towels instead.
