Rims From Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did a Suburban yesterday, The owner had spinner rims on his vehicle, (the ones that keep spinning when the vehicle stops)
I loved the rims, but when I tried to clean them OUCH!!
I kept smashing my fingers with my normal methods. These things are heavy, fine tuned spinners. I considered taking the spinner part off, but after a few phone calls, i found out that the spinners have a lot of mechanics in them and are hard to put together.
I ended up spending 2 to 2 and a half hours hand cleaning these things.

Sorry I dont have any pics, but I do have to say, they BLING BLING BLING

did you consider using some masking tape to hold them in place? I don't know tif that would help or not just a suggestion.

I would have used an acid based wheel cleaner cut 50/50 with water and called it a day. They were chrome right? The acid makes it true no touch wheel cleaning. You would have been done in about 15 minutes.

one layer of masking tape then wrapped a big zip tie around that tape and good as done.

I wondered about those rims whne I saw some on a truck recently. The acid based cleaner would be my attack to clean quickly and with alot less hassle

Truely a no touch situation. I use Meguiar's Wire/Chrome Acid wheel cleaner diluted at 1 part acid, 3 parts water (as the directions state) and it works very effectively. A foaming sprayer makes it work even better!
