Rigid vacuum success story

Fellas this isn't about detailing. It's about purchasing detailing equipment versus THE WIFE. I purchased a Ridgid wall mounted vacuum over a month ago. I got a blast being," why do you need that thing". Well I'll tell why and I am glad I did.

Our central vacuum cleaner line has been clogged for over a month. This leads to some dirty carpets. I called the vacuum guy who was going to charge us some big bucks to come unclog it.

I talked with the gentleman and he was nice enough to advise me to try my shop vac at the outlet and suck the obstruction out.

Well it worked so now me and my vacuum are the stars, the bees knees, the big kahunas.

I just love success stories.
 
It's the 5 hp model. I normally only use it as a "wet" vac for interior work. I am using a metro vac n blo for blowing off the cars after washing and an Oreck portable for interior vacuuming.

I am getting saving for a carpet evacuator.

I am currently tackling a red gatorade interior. I am just hoping i can make some kind of dent in cleaning this one up.
 
a 5HP wall-mount? Whoa. I may just have to look into that. I have a 5HP roll-around shop vac in my basement that I wouldn't want in the garage. My current 3HP hang-up shop vac sometimes doesn't quite cut it though.
 
Trust me on this, I'll be married 33 years tomorrow, interogate the wife, gently, and find out what she did to clog the house vacuum. Do not make this an FRB (failure review board). The first answer will be "nothing" just vacuumed as usual. Then ask if there was anything unusual on the floor etc. Sooner or later you will get to a) she did the fireplace, b) the cat is missing, c) the wet potting soiled spilled so I just vacuumed it up d) those styrofoam packing peanuts were everywhere. They (wives) will do some silly things, many of them have to be made aware of the do's and don'ts of equipment around the house. I think the problem is that we around to fix things so they don't worry when something goes fluuy. I see a different mind set with single women when they have the total responsibilty for their surrondings.
