I normally don't get pissed off and make things public but I thought this is appropriate given the severity of the situation. Recently I was notified that another individual was stealing my details and posting them on another site to promote his new business Jersey Devil Detailing. I come to find out that the person is a Detail City forum member and has been stealing my details for some time. The forum member is Rich189.

Here are some examples of my work and then his posts:

I hate frauds and shills. As you can see the site mods on the other forum detailed all of this threads after I notified them.

I think it's pretty obvious that you have your stuff in order. I deleted Rich's threads with pics of the R8, 442, 911, Ferrari 550, and AM Vantage.

I'm glad that you and Alex were able to bring this to our attention, and I thank you for being patient with me while I worked through this situation.

I just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention to be on the watch for picture stealing.
 
That is pretty bold. I guess it is bound to happen with the internet the way it is but detailing is a small enough world that someone is going to catch it.
 
I've had morons cut and paste text and pictures from me and pass it off as their own research and writing too. I hate nothing more than a thief! Thanks for letting us know, Pat.
 
Judging by his profile and knowing what I know about forum administration, I don't think he'll be having an opportunity to explain himself here. ;) I think the proverbial axe has already been dropped on him. I say good riddiance. People who are only here so they can steal pictures and take credt for other people's work are just the worst type. There should be an ethics exam before registering for forums like this so we can keep out the riff raff. lol
 
What a freakin bum. Good eye Pat. Does this mean we have to hire a fraud investigator here at the DC? That is really lame!:mad::mad:
 
Seems like he states that he isn't a member over at Autopia in that rebuttal. Also, he states that the cars are the same, just that he did the detail later. ???

You can't trust watermarks these days. I can remove a watermark just as easily as I can put one on. If someone wants to steal your pictures then they will. The only thing you can do is pray for bad things to happen to those who rip people off.

My guess would be NO !!!! :inspector: He took your nicely detailed info and claimed he did it. That's what fraud's do.

If you notice the time differences in the details my posts were placed on Autopia first then he posted on the NJBOA forum. How can I make a post on a forum in the past lol.

Because in order to prove the pictures were mine this time I had to take a picture of the cut on my hand that was in one of my photos i had posted earlier. To me this is just sad I have to prove stuff is mine.


LMAO...for the record...this is my hand. I cut it on the wheel while cleaning the inside lol

Wow, in that case I guess I'd like to see his rebuttal to that.

This is as good as a daytime soap. :D
 
My hands look like that. I've got the nice "detailer tan" going on right now. Tan ends at the wrists where the nitrile gloves kick in. Oh, and I've got the very telling apron strap tan on the back of my neck too. lol

Hey Pat, I've got a picture of a hand you can send him and ask for verification on. The hand only has a couple fingers showing, but I think he'll get the idea. :D
 
Seriously guys, if you think this is good then you should have been in the mod forum on Autopia when we busted a guy who was pretending he was like six other people on the forums including his own wife and family. lol It was an absolute riot. I have the whole thread where it unraveled in a folder at home. Absolutely priceless. Frauds are usually found out sooner or later, but the fun is when their whole scam unravels right before your eyes. Now THAT is comedy. lol Pat knows the thread I'm talking about. The whole John something-or-other drama. LOL I gotta go read that again....
