Thanks! When I get dates of when I'll be back up in Toronto and such I'll make a reminder... Again if anyone wants some let me know, see what I can do.

Riccardo is a name the the owner of eShine gave to the clay he sells, so you won't see that name in the UK. I think they might have access to good yellow elastic clay since I think the patent only covers the US and Japan. Unfortunately I have no idea who might be selling it and just because a clay is yellow doesn't mean it is the good stuff.

I'd start browsing over at the UK site Detailing World. They do use some chemicals that I haven't heard of over here but some, like the wheel cleaners, might be hard to pack for the trip back.
 
No worries, I'll have a shipping container to put them in... Might not be able to get most of it to anyone that wants something particular til around X-mas time, but I can pick things up...



Any suggestions on stuff over there that might be worth a shot?
 
Why don't they just sell it in the US? What's all this patent mumbo jumbo? Do they think they are going to make more money by excluding a big neighboring market? Do they think this is somehow going to keep people from trying to rip off their "patented" product? If someone wanted to rip it off, it doesn't matter if they bought it in the US or Canada; they would just get ahold of it however they could and rip it off. Does it have something to do with the taxes in Canda and their government won't collect any tax monies to sales shipped to the US? WTF?

This has been discussed in detail in other threads; it's not patent "mumbo jumbo", it's patent LAW. The patent holder sued the maker of Riccardo clay and won, therefore, they can no longer sell it in the US (the US patent holder doesn't have a Canadian patent). Part of that "mumbo jumbo" included millions of dollars in license fees and punitive damages, so you'll excuse the makers of Riccardo clay (who is/are NOT eShine) if they don't want to make the same mistake twice, and excuse eShine for not wanting to subject himself to litigation. And yes, selling it in Canada and shipping it to the US is effectively selling it in the US, which is why eShine won't do that.

I believe you are going to have to have the clay ordered and shipped to someone you know up there who will hold on to it till you get there. To the best I know, it is not carried by stores in Canada.

Gotcha, you should be fine then. I would consider asking for a few bars but the cost of shipping twice would probably make it to much.

With the current USD/CAD exchange rate, it might not be that bad.



1 USD = 1.19 CAD as to this morning. Now if only eurodollar would drop from it's all time highs, I'd be doing better :drool:
