Riccardo Clay

can someone tell me why riccardo clay is illegal in the states?

Automagic invented detailers clay back 20 years or so ago and patented it. One or more companies noticed how their clay could be improved if resins (or something like that) were used and made the clay more elastic and easier to use so they made a better clay. Automagic sued the snot out of all of these companies claiming patent infringement. The US court ruled in Automagic's favor so the competing clay can be made in the US but not sold in the US (or Japan since they recognize most US Patent laws) but pretty much everywhere else in the world (since they don't recognize all of the US's patent laws) can sell it.

Therefore our Canadian and European friends have it, we don't (unless we know someone is Canada who will get you some). Once the patent has expired, we will get the elastic clay again, until then, we just have to wait. Not sure when the patent expires. If you are curious, just google it and you will see hundreds of threads about it.

Say I order it from Eshine... Will they or I get in trouble if it offers to ship to the states?

eshine will not ship to the us no matter how hard you beg. They will not risk their relationship with riccardo in order to supply you with clay. If you add it on check out to their website the order will be canceled.

Eshine signed an agreement stating he would not, under any circumstances, ship the yellow clay to the U.S.

I have some, and I must say...It's good stuff.

I have read other places say 2017. Not sure which sources are more reliable.

I think the patent (# 5727993) runs out in 5 years (2013). The good news is since someone is still making that clay here in the states we should have a source when that dreaded patent finally expires.

Hahaha...Maybe, just maybe you'll get to see the infamous yellow clay.
Yeah, there are a few bars of yellow clay kept under lock and key here in Lexington ;)

Where would I be able to find this say in Toronto or Montreal? I travel up there about 3 to 6 times a year for work, and am willing to pick a bunch up (I can smuggle a lot of stuff through customs in my workbox), that is as long as everyone will pay for it. Equivalent to whatever the Canadian price is in USD, and shipping to you. I should be up there in November/December. I know not detailing season, but if I can find it I'll grab it.

LMAO what is this, the new cocaine?

"So what are you in for"

"smuggling clay"

"damn dude, you got balls!"

Later you can make a movie called "clay" instead of "Blow"

hahahaha... Truth be told, probably only place to keep it besides my suitcase, and well it would probably pick up some funky smells in the bay of a tour bus... Hahahahaha
