Review: Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant

Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant

This is my precious 2001 Acura TL, got her on January 21st 2001. 12 years later and 172k miles she has seen a lot of abuse and use. Over the years the interior has been maintained by various OTC products and in the end they did an amazing job maintaining the leather. But always left a tacky feeling and undesired shine. This is where the cockpit seal really shined left a dry and matte finish, with a smooth and silky feel.

The surface must be clean before applying Cockpit Seal, the first thing I did was clean the seats and dash with Blackfire Interior Cleaner. I used a couple of white mf pads and rolled edge towels to clean and the blue pads to apply the WCTS.

Visually I thought my seats where pretty clean………

I guess I was wrong, look at the new pad vs the one used only on the passenger seat.

After cleaning the seat with Blackfire interior cleaner, I wiped everything down with damp Mf.
Here some 50/50 shots of the WCTS. When you apply it looks oily, till it cures. The cure time was about 45 minutes.

The finished product, took these pics at about 10am so 15 hours after applying it. The seats feel and look like they did when I got the car. There is no tackiness, just smooth like satin.

I left that one small spot untreated to compare.

Enjoy and feel free to ask questions.

Your TL looks amazing! I have an 06 TL and it had less than a mile when I drove it off the lot. Now it just passed 50,000 miles and absolutely still love it. Acura makes great quality cars. Your seats look as if they were brand new.

Thank!!
I love the 3rd gen TL. I love Acuras as well, I have a 2010 V6 TSX and been itching to trade it in for Awd TL.:D

Nice review. I am looking forward to trying this out. I have always been a fan or Ultima Interior Guard and have used it since it was released. I am curious to see how it stacks up !!!!

Thanks for the review. So there is no slipperiness when all dried out? Just apply and let dry, no removing residue with a cotton cloth? Also, that 50/50 shot, is that with the product still wet?

No slipperiness, more satin. On the seats and dash it was WOWA. On the plastic pieces and wood I buffed out the residue with a MF. Yes the 50/50 was like 5 mins after applying so still a little wet.

nice..........looks about just the right amount of sheen. compares to ultima interior guard? which i have used. it was a fine product, but i was not overly impressed.

my current go to is DP interior protectant. (going to take a lot to move me away from it!)

I have never tried Ultima interior guard but from the reviews I have read about it sounds similar, but at this price point the Wolfgang seems like a much better buy. I think this 8oz bottle should last me 5 to 6 years.

Nice review.

I am in the middle of testing this out right now. So expect my review soon. Also I have and use UIGP and will have a small comparison of these two as well.
