Since Mark posted some of his thoughts on this I figured is bring it back to the top so you all can see my review.
As far as the contaminants go they stay on the block until you wash them off. I recommend washing off the block after every panel. Either dip it in you rinse bucket and wipe the contaminants off or put the block under running water and wipe with your hand.
