Review: Megs #6 and Megs # 26

Let me just say I now love this stuff! After washing my car today I noticed tiny water marks in certain places all over, Applying Collinite 915 did nothing, so i went to the store and bought some Mirror Glaze #6 Cleaner/Wax and some Mirror Glaze #26 Hi-Tech Liquid Car Wax.

I used my PC with 5.5" white LC pad and applied the #6 one panel at a time, speed 5. It went on super easy, a little goes a LONG way, and it worked like a charm. It removed all water spots, small scratches that weren't deep, I mean really small ones, and wiped off like nothing. Maybe the easiest product I've ever used. I did not strip the previous 3 coats of Collinite 915 I had on the car so i don't know if this took it off (being called a "cleaner") but it left the finish much brighter/wetter/glossier than the Collinite 915 alone did.

I applied the #26 wax by hand with a yellow foam pad after this, and it seemed to compliment the #6. It provided an even wetter/glossier look to the paint and made it even brighter IMO. It went on super easy and came off almost as easy as the #6 did.

I don't know about the durability yet, but I love what I see with these two so far.

Yes, it would have removed the 915 :)

Meguiar's cleaner waxes are very easy to use, one of the first products I ever used and I still reach for the simple stuff from time to time.

#26 is a really good looking wax that is often forgotten and overlooked. I use it occasionally on wash and wax jobs

Nice review, thanks! I recently bought 7x gallons of Megs #26, good to see people are liking it!

Good lawd that is a lot of wax! I have some of this sitting around somewhere that I bought under recommendation. It worked really well on my RX-7, however, I feel it'd be better with machine application. I've been using NXT 2.0 for hand application as it seems to work better under that condition. I may have to dig up that bottle once I get my Flex. :)

I love the look of #26. The only thing that bugs me is how it seems to statically attract more dust than anything else. Has anyone experienced the same, and are there any solutions for this? Topping it with something else?

Thanks

x2.

Ever since I got my hands on #26, I've never touched my Gold Class and Deep Crystal Step 3 Carnuaba wax since. And to this day I still reach for the #26 more often than NXT (old version).

I haven't observed that myself.

No Meguiar's wax should have any type of static charge at all. You sure you just aren't seeing it more over that wax?

This lady had bought two cases of it to polish copper. Needless to say, she didn't need it all.

What in the world... :cooleek: she bought two cases of a non-cleaner wax to polish copper? What salesman took advantage of her... :soscared:

I like #26 alot , I think the durability is good . It hold up to winter wisconsin weather. In winter I usually put a coat or 2 of #21 under it though.

Your right it is a way over looked high quality product.

#26 used to be by far my favorite. I would. reach for it over many of the expensive designer waxes. It really does a great job of darkening colors and giving a deep look to the paint. Durability is right up there with most nubes and has a great smell to it. If I had to buy a wax off of a shelf, it would be #26 every time/

You might try topping with FK425.........

Megs does not get the respect and credit it should. They have THE BEST of detailing supplies of any manufacture. Yes #26 does look great!

Meg's is really moving forward. They have ton of new consumer polishes coming out. An updated Color-X.........a hidden gem anyways. But the new #205 finishing polish will be a show stopper again. Heck, look what 105 did for the market.
