Product: Duragloss Rubber & Flat Black Dressing (RBD) #271

Price: $7.99

Size: 8oz

Viscosity: a “thin� oil.

Smell: is like a petroleum smell as Collinite Insulator Wax #845

Application: I think I used a total 6 “drops� or less on the both headlight enclosures, the 8oz bottle will give you many applications so ill have this bottle for some years. I think I’ll put the product in a 4oz spray bottle or something for simply mist one shot to the applicator pad and done. The flip cap don’t help because you don’t need much product and the product is very thin. I applied it direct to a Pinnacle Foam Pad (I prefer meguiars foam pad) using the WOWA method.

Appearance: Flat Matte Black as advertised. (like it!)

Conclusion: I used this product in a Mazda Miata Headlights plastic enclosures, before the application the plastic had a non-uniform appearance of color and after the application the plastic have a 99% even flat black color. I really recommend this product..

Yeah, I've been singing its praises to anyone who will listen. On hard plastics it has excellent coverage, a nice matte finish, doesn't streak or run, economical and long lasting(as in months), other than the fragrance - what's not to like about it?



Bonus: it's a great tire dressing as well!

How is this an attribute?



The three vehicles that I maintain are used on a daily basis and my DD gets a conventional wash every fourth or fifth day (depending what shift I'm working) so I can attest to its longevity.



I've been using this for about a year and a half and can't compare RBD to BW as I usually stick w/ what works for me.
 
I just tried it as well on my wife's Lexus RX 350. I scrubbed the tires and wheel wells and dried them with an electric leaf blower. Everything was totally dry. I applied it to the tires, wheel wells, trim underneath the sides and the engine shield/kickplate in the front. The tires still look nice (one week later) but the wheel wells are covered with dust.



I was disappointed because I thought this was going to be my one product for all surfaces but I won't use it on anything other than the tires. It's great for the tires, but collects too much dust anywhere else. YMMV.

I'm not sure what you're asking but the point I was trying to make is that the product seemed to work fine on the tires but it was a dust magnet on the wheel wells.



I also applied it to the rear fascia on my Corvette and it attracted more dust than any other product I've used on it.
 
JB1 ,I can see the wheel wells being dusty. Its like a swirl of road debris in there.lol.



I have tried that product also and it's great. Another good one for tires if you like very matte or semi flat finish is the DG Tire & Mat dressing.



DG products are just excellent IMO. I have alot of them and have given me the best shine , best durability in winter and all around excellent satisfaction on my own test vehicles and customers.

Before I tried the 271, I was using the 253 Tire & Rubber Dressing with Rain Repel. That one was not a dust magnet on any of the surfaces I used it on. I have most of Duragloss' line of products and think they are awesome so I'm not giving the 271 a "thumbs down" review, it just didn't work as well (on the wells) as the other ones have.



I also have a bottle of the 321 Non Silicone Dressing and I used last summer/fall. Does that mean that 253 does have silicone?
 
JB , I would think so. Most all dressing do unless specified.



I've not used 253 in wheel wheels , I'll give it a shot , good idear.



Silicones are in damn near in everything for detailing.....lol.
