Got my hands on some of this stuff recently, and decided to give it a try due to the claims made:
Designed for clear coats, blacks, reds, and custom paint jobs. No polymers, plastic base resins, silicons, or teflons. Just good old carnauba, the oldest, hardest shell, longest lasting wax to ever be put on an automobile. You can apply our wax to a black car in 100 degree heat and come out with no swirls (our wax fills in those silly swirls) and no streaks. No extreme buffing here. You can leave it on for weeks and it will wipe off easily, leaving your arm intact. Removes oxidation and light scratches
Well, like any good skeptic, I wanted to test these claims.
The product itself is a pale green, almost gel-like paste. It smells and looks like a little like Play-doh. Pretty cool. I liked it.
I wanted to test this stuff in all conditions, and as the lazy man it's catered too, so I didn't do any prep work before applying. About 2.5 weeks ago, I had used Gliptone pro-buff, and then Gliptone paste with Teflon, which was holding up fairly well, although the surface imperfections and such were visible.
The back and forth rain, intense heat, and humidity that the east coast is getting battered with has my allergies going insane, not to mention it had beaten the crap out of the finish of my car. Im sure most of you know what it's like.. Well, whoever has a black daily driver knows what it's like....
Anyway, I applied it by hand, using a foam applicator, and purpously made a bit of a mess. Applied it a bit too thick here, let it haze for a while over there, used my halogen to heat up the pax door (simulating sun... kinda....) just to see how it worked, and under what conditions.
Well, much to my suprise, it actually delivered on the claims they've tossed out there.... None of the areas were hard to buff off!!! Each and every test area was as easy to remove as any wax i've ever used!! :scared
Wow.. That was fun.
Now by the time I finished this, I didn't get to really evaluate the finish. It was time to go out with the guys and drink, so I cleaned her up and got on my way. Upon arriving at the bar, my two buddies immedietly commented on the car. Even though my car is always clean, they both noticed it had som extra shine to it today... Nice!
One guy even remarked that we have to do his car soon, cuz my car makes his look like a POS, even though it's 6 years newer than mine... :up
So the night went on, and it was kind of raining after we left. More of a mist than rain, but enough that I couldn't have a look with my beer goggles, and just went home.
The big shock came when I went outside this morning to go to work. I was a little hung over, a little tired, and had just about completely forgotten that I waxed the car the night before. It was sunny and about 75 out, and as I walked up to the car, from 10 feet away, it looked like a black mirror! 'Holy crap, this looks fantastic!' were pretty close to my exact words. Upon super close inspection, you could see that there still were some underlying swirls and water etches, but based on the work I did, and the effort level required, it could be in the top 3 looks my car's ever had. I can only imagine what the shine would look like if I actually prepped the surface and properly applied the wax.
Also, it was super slick to the touch. Felt better than S100. Looked better than S100. Application was easier than S100. It's hard to talk about my favorite carnuaba like that, but this stuff is comparible.
Of course I can't comment on the durability yet... That'll follow.
However, the best comment of the day came from a co-worker... 'Hey, when'd you get that thing painted again? Looks new!'

As a matter of fact, if the durability proves to be decent (Any reviews out there?) I think I'll be using this on 90% of the cars I do this summer. I might need a gallon!
