Rethinking the Klasse twins

I love this stuff, cannot seem to screw things up with aio and sg.

What has worked perfectly for me, all the time, every time has been using the method by Jimwh, a short wait time between removal; after all, the bottle says to let it dry, the distributor says to let it dry, heck even the Pres of Klasse USA says to let it dry.

No disrespect to anyone with any other method, whatever procedure works for you is great, its just that I always figured that the people who write the directions probably really know what they are talking about so I do try to follow the instructions.

BUT, until this past weekend (ran out of juice after applying the first coat on our new van conversion camper; ok, I really ran out of beer! and decided that finishing the following day was very attractive!!) I never, ever let sg dry over twenty four hours that some, yes even the distributor, suggest and honestly the procedure did go with less effort; ok, much less effort. When I apply sg, with a micro app and qd of course, I can clearly see the swirls marks of application-am I slightly heavy on the material, probably but again for roughly three years this stuff has amazed me with its shine and even more so with its durability. Usually wiping the sg off after the approx 20 minute wait required just a very little effort, and involved slight drag and very slight loading of the cloths-never a big deal and again, I cannot emphasize this enough, the results have always been astounding.

However, after going back to the van yesterday, after about 26 hours, my initial reaction was that I must have dreamed about putting the stuff on as there was very little indication that I spent an hour or so of putting sg on-immediately after application I could quite clearly see the material on the surface now it really looked as though I had quickly wiped down the entire van, interesting.

So now what usually involved a small amount of effort and inconvienence took nearly no effort at all and the cloths almost appear as clean as before starting.

I am not ready to say that this is the way I will do it from now on, and the results are positively not different-near perfect as always nor will I subscribe to the curing line of thought rather I believe that the voc's MAY need more time to fully evaporate.

What I must say is that this is an interesting development and the successful resolution will require many hours of contemplation with vast quantities of beer and poppers.

Sounds like you should have run outta beer sooner. You probably put it on and wiped it off and didn't even realize it....

RJJ- By the time I wash my minivan (including undercarriage, etc.) and apply KSG, I've usually had enough too. So removing KSG the next day is what I usually end up doing. Works great for me too. Once I even waited several days, and it came off just fine even where I'd experimented with goofy-thick applications.
