Alot of the black plastic on my car is faded and or stained with compound or wax. How do i restore it to its natural beauty? Whats the best product to use? Example, Mother's Back to Black sucks so what else will work?

Cheers,

Jamie

godd1000- Welcome to Autopia!

I'd try KAIO first. To get more aggressive I'd use Hi-Temp's Heavy Cut/"357" (but don't let it dry before buffing it off!). Some black plastics respond ver well to 1Z (consumer line) Paint Polish, the stuff in the green can. Then either top with something like Collinite 845 or strip clean with IPA/etc. and apply a trim sealant.

"Trim specific" products like GR-40 can work OK, but I generally use the aforementioned approaches instead. I hardly ever use ERV dressing-type approaches for stuff like this, but that's just me.

Hands down, Restore-X.

Go to Restore-X.com and view the comparison video against Mothers Back to Black and Meguires Ultimate Black.

Also lasts at least 6 months.

APC with a toothbrush and gentle agitation for textured trim, or if you want a great overall protectant that also restores color and depth, try UTTG+ (Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus). It's kinda spendy but is crazy easy to use and works excellent as a protectant. What kind of car is it?
