restoring a black car

Hi all- Newbie to the site and to finer detailing in general. Before I go out and buy some products that I do not need or are inferior, I thought I would come to the source first. I have a 96 Black Nissan that I have taken fairly good care of except for the paint. I have some cloudy spots, and safe to say it is pretty well oxidized. Can someone provide me a step by step method of restoring some shine to this guy? I have no problem spending a day or two slaving over it, but I would like to keep all the chemicals under $50 bucks total. Doable?

Thanks in advance.

It might be hard to do on that budget. Your arms are going to be super sore without a Porter Cable buffer, at least.

I have had great success with oxidation using Menzerna products.
