Replacing my bumper on Monday, anything I should alert the shop to?

I'm replacing the front bumper of my BMW 540i with an OEM M-tech front.



Supposedly the shop has great equipment and a nice booth and if not pressed for time can accomplish perfection. I'm just curious as to whether there is anything I need to be aware of or need to tell the guy won't fly.



I'm toying with the idea of letting him repair some paint chips on my hood for instance, but don't know if he'd just spray over the trouble spots and re-clear the whole thing leaving permanent swirls underneath or what...



For what its worth my car is titanium silver.



Any suggestions?
 
If the paint shop is great at what they do, you shouldn't have to worry about anything. I learned the hard way though; although the shop that just did my car is AMAZING, they SUCK with the automatic buffer! My car new hood is FULL of holograms :cry:. Tell them not to glaze it after they're done, that will only hide the imperfections. Also, see if you can get someone who knows how to use a buffer to do the buffing for you!
 
Pricey equipment, tools, and paint doesn't always equate to quality.

One can get a better finish from a guy working out of his garage;

granted he knows what he's doing and uses good materials for the

job.



Ask about a warranty in writing.

Lots of good info here! Point me to the fellas that work on fresh paint,

besides you. TH0001 seems to be highly skilled and knowledgeable.



Just tried IP and FP recently. Too early to tell but i think i likes it. :)
