removing wax from chips, pits, scratches, etc

last weekend i detailed a dark green metallic 95 ford taurus. it has a number of paint chips scratches etc that i can't get the wax out of. those little spots of white wax stand out against that dark green color and i was wondering what i can use to get the wax out of the places.

It would be a pain to do one by one. What sort of wax where you using that caused this?

i used mothers cleaner wax
