Removing swirls on a WRX

I've been helping a friend try to remove the awful swirling from his WRX. I've never seen a car swirled more badly and it was delivered that way from the dealer.

We spent the other day trying various combinations of pads (CMA white and yellow) along with 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compound and 3M SMR for Dark Cars. This removed the fine circle swirling. What was left behind is what seems to be deeper arc marks that I can only imagine were caused by washing or buffing with really bad technique at the dealer.

Any suggestions on what to try/buy to help remove these marks? I currently don't have anything harsher as the products I have are more than adequate for keeping my cars in good shape.

Thanks!

This is probably the clearest photo I have of BEFORE we did anything... since I don't consider it finished I never took any after photos. I'd say most of the swirling is gone now and we are left with what I can best describe as light scratching which is mostly visible on the panels we didn't touch but still visible on the ones that have been attacked with the above mentioned process.

That looks nasty! I'd probably go with something a bit stronger than the FCRC, but it oughta still do the job if you work it a while. I'd probably use 1Z's Ultra/Extra (then follow up with their PP), but honestly, removing *serious* marring with a PC just isn't my cup of tea (I'd use the Cyclo or the rotary, which doesn't help you any :o ).

You sound like you're right at the edge of what can be done with the PC. Try the FCRC again, but be careful- don't overdo it.

There was a dealer-installed scratch on my WRX that I finally chickened out on removing by PC. The Cyclo got it *almost* completely out, but it took more work than I really felt comfortable with (and after all that I was afraid to try the rotary, the clear was getting too thin- should've used the rotary in the first place but I didn't have it then). Remember that Subie paint is *thin* to begin with.

I did my car (GT Turbo, model before WRX)with Swissol after collecting it new from the dealer with the same "beautiful finish like your friends car, 1 apllication and all swirls and haze were gone..
