I have noticed recently that I believe I have figured out why my windshield has been looking so distorted under certain lighting conditions. I believe there are rids(not sure?), and well as swirls, as well as pits in my windshield. I can get all the glass on the car clean, and from the inside it looks great since I have full visibility, but when the light hits it, I see marks that make it always look dirty, even when it is spotless. It looks like the windshield has like a thousand pits in it, but the car is an '04 with only 45k miles. I was wondering how I could fix this since I don't have a polisher, do have cordless drill though. I am heading to college in September with my car staying in the garage until I come back, I and don't have the money for a replacement windshield. My deductible is higher than a new windshield, so a replacement is out of the question. I tried the Diamondnite glass restoration kit back in October, and it did make a big improvement in visibility, but the swirls still remain. Could I use steel wool grade #0000 followed by something like Ultimate Compound to restore this? If anyone has any suggestions that aren't too expensive, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
