Removing striping and decals from police car

A few years ago I helped one of my customers remove the vinyl stripes and decals from his 35 foot boat and it only took us about an hour. You just need to have lots of rags on hand and a good pair of rubber gloves.

Okay I just got a 2008 Dodge Charger Police unit. Now the letters and everything were removed. However most the car is black and the doors are white. Are the doors painted or is it a decal too where I can just peel off and make the entire car black? Would like to know this ASAP. I live in a small area that sold this car. People still think it's a cop car even without the letters. I got flagged down today for help with an accident in the snow. hahaha I want to prevent that.
