Removing spoiler, plug the holes?

I want to remove my spoiler but I will have 4 holes in the trunk lid . Would some of those flat snap covers you see over screws etc in cars work to plug the holes? I could paint them to match the paint. I don't think I'd mind this considering how much re-painting the trunk lid would cost. I'd reinstall it when I sell the car, everyone else seems to love spoilers.

Before entering this post and reading your question my thought was exactly what you suggested. Sound like it might be the cheapest way to fix the holes and still look decent. Might try a bead of clear caulk around the plugs to help seal the water out (not on the trunk its self so it shows on the paint but on the inside of the trunk where the plugs punch through the trunk lid).

Wow, exactly the presciption. thank you autopians.

Why do people like spoilers so much, I think they look kinda silly, esp on a front drive. Lip spoilers I like a little better than the wings, cleaner look.

It doesn't look bad at all on the 'Stang- I'd say try it. It's not a permanent thing anyway...

And it's also probably a little easier to clean that area of the car now

Eh, I think it is a bad idea. Given most people won't notice it but those who did would laugh. Why not hunt down a deck lid with no spoiler. I'm sure there are some around even on a newer car. I bet if you could find someone with a spoiler-less one and asked to trade they would.

Thats another good idea. If you can find somebody willing to trade, thats probably the way I would go. It would be a more permanent solution. I don't know if there is a CL-specific message board, but that would be the place to look.

Yeah, I'm sure there is a message board out there somewhere. You can try honda-tech.com

There is an Acura section on there for everything other than integras.

:wavey from a fellow HT member ;)

You might want to check out the Appearance/Cosmetic forum over at Honda-Tech... a lot of the guys there have gone "wingless"

I've thought of switching lids with someone, but I wanted a somewhat temporary solution for now. It's not a huge priority, I've got other things I want to do. taking off the wheels this eekend to clean them.

Just put on some alum. door sills that have the car name, looks sweet, since the interior is black with silver trim. Gonna window tint in a couple weeks too and add some alum dash kit.
