Removing scratches in plastic trim

A work college just called as his Freelander was involved in a supermarket bump at the weekend. Another vehicle has scratched the front right corner of the plastic bumper. He asked if I could help him out, I said I would have a go but not sure how successfull scratch removal on plastic would be.

I have a couple of ideas on my attack been:

PC 4" Spot Pad - SSR Range but which?

W&D - but what to bring the gloss back? The W&D may remove the textured finish in the plastic though

Meguiars PlastX

Hide with a plastic dressing

Has anybody ever carried out anything like the above and what would be peoples opinions on how to complete the task?

I' ll watch this carefully cause I have a similar problem with the passenger side inner door panel, right on the grainy plastic trim, as though some metal scraped against it. I thought of using a very fine "emery paper" on it but then I dared not doing anything before I asekd you guys... (Pics to follow shortly)

waiting for a reply here also. I've got a customer with some scratches in the plastic door panel of her expedition and she wants them out. I've refused to touch them so far because I dont want to polish off the textured finish of the plastic. Suggestions please?

Nobody!

Looks like this could be a trial and error detail. I'll take some pictures of the detail for those interested.

Sandpaper, heat gun and trim restorer (or equivalent).

If it's too deep then it might not be possible to completely restore it.
