removing rust stains

hey autopians! long time no post. i just bought a '98 Honda Accord. Champagne color. no wrecks or damage to the car. only little rust under the rear driver side panel. which could easily be fixed. the spoiler has some rust coming out of the spoiler i believe from inside and it's getting on to the paint. i've never had rust on my car. i want to remove it. any tips on how to remove it? i was thinking trying clay first, then try some medium grade polish.

i'd appreciate.

auidpower- Note that you need to find and rectify the source of the rust or it'll keep coming back (or worse).

For the rust stains on the paint, if clay doesn't do it I'd use the acidic part of a decontamination system.

If you want to try something "less exotic", then I'd lean towards a chemical paint cleaner or a polish that also has decent chemical cleaners in it. E.g., Meguiar's #2 used to have more potent chemical cleaners than other Meg's polishes of equal cut (not sure if it still has those cleaners since the latest reformulation).

i've already spent hours sanding and removing the rust. getting ready to paint the fixed areas. just have two spots where when it rain the rust ran w/ the water and stained the paint. i figured using clay. just didn't know of any other type of acidic removers off paint. w/ all the reformulations of products out there the last 6 yrs. didn't know what was left. i don't think the clay will take it all out. pretty sure of that. i'll give it a try over memorial weekend and post it so maybe if somebody runs across my issue there will be a solution

AutoInt/ValuGard still sells their "B" (link to AI site: http://www.autoint.com ). Some people claim to have used CLR from the hardware store, but that scares me...
