Removing Oil

What is a good product I could use to get oil off the cement. My developed an acute BIG oil leak and it left a really big spot on the pavement. What could use to clean up off the pavement before it eats through?
 
Use speedy dri or Cat litter it will absorb it.

What type of surface is the pavment blacktop or concrete

1st get some oil dry , i seen a product for cleaning up stained concrete, oil etc at autuzone i don't recall the name off hand.i would think it is sold at other parts stores too. it only makes since they sell the stuff to make the mess that they would have a product to clean it up lol. good luck

Years back I had a black slate floor in the house that was really messed up....in doing some research on the net I found this site.....I've used it many times since for all types of cleaners and protectants for all types of surfaces indoor or out

Oil Dri is a good start to remove the heaviest stuff,but if it's concrete some hint of the stain will likely remain permanently. You can try a Sodium Hydroxide based cleaner(ex:easy off oven cleaner) or Butyl a based cleaner(ex:purple power) to help lessen the stain.
In our 4yrs of professional pressure washing we have yet to find any product that will completely remove oil stains form concrete.Using acid isn't the solution either,it will only scar the surface and cause bigger headaches down the road.
Nothing at the big box stores holds a candle to the chemicals we use for fast food drive-thrus along with 200degree hotwater and the stains still remain.
 
If its fresh I use gas, carb cleaner, or ether for all kinds of oil and grease ect. , but be careful.

In my line of work the EPA frowns on these methods,but they do work and if it's your home I say go for it.After all we are talking about a small area that needs cleaning.


Aren't we?
